ABOUT US

LET YOUR SUMMIT FLAG FLY. 🚩
Every summit tells a story. The wind in your face. The pain in your legs. The voice in your head saying, “I can’t believe I just did that.”
Summit Something was built for the goal-setters, the peak-baggers, and the never-back-downers chasing that Big Summit Energy.
If you’ve ever watched another hiker pull out a summit sign and thought, I wish I had one of those, you’re in the right place. But our flags aren’t just for the photo (though they look quite good in one). They’re a piece of your story to bring home, frame, and add to your collection, or even to give as a gift for hikers in your orbit.

NOTHING AGAINST CARDBOARD, BUT…
OUR FLAGS ARE SIMPLY BETTER 🤙
We know cardboard summit signs are popular for summit pics. But, here’s the thing: cardboard signs don’t put in the same work for you that you do for them. Oftentimes, they get crumpled in your pack, or worse, left behind. If you find one at the top, it may not even have the right elevation listed.
That’s why we work with artists to custom-design lightweight, packable, and durable summit flags as a better way to commemorate the climb.
More than a sign, a flag is a symbol of belonging, not just to the hiking community, but to your own journey, and to the trail stories that shape you.
WE’RE A FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS
WE STAND ON OUR VALUES 🗻
The team behind Summit Something is a close-knit family of five known to get outside whenever—and however—possible. In 2021, when hiking in Colorado, we noticed the cardboard summit sign trend… and not in a good way.
We watched people at the summit hold up their cardboard signs for a photo, then, sadly, leave them behind. The pile of discarded old signs made us think there had to be a better way to commemorate the big summit moment.
As a family who celebrates our wins together, and who challenges each other to keep shooting for the next summit, we created Summit Something—a company that helps hikers capture their milestones without leaving anything behind.
Whether it’s for your friend, family or for yourself, our flags are next-level awesome gifts for hikers who geared up, packed their backpack, and did the dang thing.

SO, HEY…
WHAT’S WITH THE 5’S? 5️⃣5️⃣
You’ve got eagle eyes for the details, huh? The two 5s hidden inside our logo represent our founding “Party of Five,” but it’s also a reference to the feeling we had when we bagged our first five big summits together as a family. It’s when we decided that yep, hiking is our thing. We want to help others find their “thing,” too, and celebrate their adventurous achievements!
A quote we stand by is, “the more you do hard things, the more you can do hard things.” Doing hard things, like reaching the summit, helps you grow more resilient, more capable and more confident. That’s why we want to empower people to keep reaching for the stars.
SPEAKING OF STARS
WE LOVE TO GIVE BACK ⭐
At Summit Something, we partner with nonprofits who share our values of adventure, achievement and accessibility. That’s why we donated Summit Something flags to participants in the Aspen Winter Games, an 8-day adaptive snowboard and ski recreation program put on annually by the Shining Stars Foundation.
At the Aspen Winter Games, children facing an unimaginable challenge—life threatening illness—hit the Aspen slopes and, alongside their medical team, instructors and volunteers, are given everything they need to ski or ride. They also enjoy camp-style activities like campfires, movie nights, and an epic talent show.
The whole 8-day experience helps kids gain a sense of hope through their bravery and accomplishment. They learn to focus on what they can do, not what they can’t do, as they battle their illness.
